Headlights? Something Different?
Headlights? Something Different?
Hey People,
I'm wanting to change the headlights in the FB to something a bit better...
Does anyone know of anything I can do to change the headlights in the FB?
Legally of course
I want something heaps brighter than the original head lights.
Any Ideas?
let me know
Cheers

How did you with the conversion?
Did you have to disassemble an original light and change some bits and pieces to get them to work.
Not real sure, as my FB dosnt have any lights in it atm.
but isnt it a sealed beam?
dosnt it work just like light bulb for the house?
Once its blown you throw it away and buy a new one?
How did you put the halogen bulbs in your car?
Cheers

Hi Rowan,
The original are a semi sealed bean unit, they have provision for a replacement original type bulb to be re-fitted, These guys make a halogen bulb fitted to the original type base so all you have to do is remove the headlamp (or in your case find it in the pile of parts!
)
remove the original and put the new one in!
The bulb is the only part that is replaced when it blows
Hope that helps
Matt
P.S. running these in both of my earlies and the difference is amazing! there was some talk of the extra heat making the original glass shatter if it gets to hot and then rain hitting the glass and cracking if (big temp drop) but I havnt had this happen in all the years I have been driving mine)

Hoping everyone is finding my new Avatar less "Distracting" and of course it is not directed at anyone or anything either currently living or deceased, hopefully it may just be allowed to remain!

Sorry to dig up such an old thread.....
Does anyone know of any place in Sydney that sells replacement Halogen globes that would fit into the EK without any modifications?
Last night I had Stewart (parisian62) in the car with me, and the poor bloke must now think I'm the world's worst driver
The standard lights were so bad I was going through Give Way signs
, missing turn offs
and driving at snail's pace simply because I couldnt see shit.
I know there's the place mentioend above in SA , I was just hoping they might be available closer.
