There has been a long break since I fabricated and fitted these skins.


Well not too much been hapenning with this. I did join up the new skins onto the old ones and got a bit of distortion which took a lot of time to get right. Straightening is definately not what I am good at. Then one afternoon my daughter and I took the motor and gearbox out and the next day hauled the suspensions out. Now she (the car , not the daughter) is on a trolley.

I started sorting out the beadings one night and ended going up to my Mom's house where a lot of the parts are. I got all the FB doors down and stripped all the beadings off them to make up the best set possible. Got a bit distracted by the door panels when I took them off, so I loaded them all up and a big pile of others too, took them home for a scrub on the lawn. I photographed each set so that I could have a reference. Must make a nice BIG box for them now to keep them safe!





This photo was taken in 2003 at Sandstone Estates in the Orange Free State. We had gone up in the two Holdens for a big agricultural, tractor aand train show. The owner of the property has about 23 km of narrow gauge (19") and about a dozen restored steam engines. He also has a collection of standard (3'6")gauge trains. Take a look at his website: www.sandstone-estates.com He sure knows how to play on a big scale with big toys.
