Bolt in Rear Chassis Rails

Post by Alex's EK »

Hey team,

Its been a loooong time since ive posted anything on the forum. I have a very strange question...

Ive been thinking about this for a while, would it be possible to change the rear chassis rails to bolt in style. I have my NOS chassis rails, but unfortunately i dont have a gas MIG, ive only got a gasless and im not too sure whether it will be powerful enough to weld the new rails in. I was thinking if i put metal plates in on the rails and on the actual body and put through really big bolts to hold it in it might suffice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Alex

I wouldnt want to rely on a stock subframe bolted in but a new engineered chassis to allow either an independent or coil over rear end to be bolted in would be pretty cool. By NOS rails do you mean the pressed C section of the body used to strengthen the unitary body ?
