Well folks, it's been a while since I joined the group, looks like it's high time to post some piccies of the wagon. These are the specs that I hope to be doing:
Commondore V6, auto and diff
Vintage air, air-con
airbags (mainly for practicallity as an every day driver)
dropped axels
Lokar shifter
Moon Eyes steering wheel
modified bench seats, with HQ type headrests
60L fuel tank (already purchased)
Torq-Thrust 15" mags



The car looked pretty good when I bought it, but........ as it always happens, more rust than first expected.


This is probably the worst part on the car. Anyone have any luck fixing this spot? (C-pillars)



The photo might be a little hard to decipher, but this is the rear area of the new section of front passenger floor pan that I am about to weld in. The rusted area goes further rewards than the floor pan. Is there any repo sections out there that can be bought for this area? Not too sure how I am going to tackle this area as of yet.



This is an overview of how she looks today. I have the V6 and box ready for trial fittment, and the new diff is just visable.

I hope to have the car all back together in about 18 months. As we have just had a little girl, most of my free time revolves around her! Any comments appreciated about the project are appreciated.

Are you looking to remove the front subframe? The r st loves hiding in there against the firewall.

As far as I know those parts of the floor aren't available new. Luckily mine was ok. I changed the most of the floor in my EK, I'm glad it was confined to where the repro panels fit.

Wagonman, nice start for your project, you said you want air bags, is that suspension or crash air bags? If it is crash air bags, how will you get them to work? Trev .

id have crash bags if they could sqaush one in my original horn button trev

best thing is you have a plan and so long as you don't get distracted or side tracked should be fairly straight forward

Sorry, should have elaborated earlier. Airbag suspension, not crash pads. Also to add, while the photos of the car in it's assembled condition look pretty good, in the flesh the paint was quite scratched up in some spots, and there is some panel damage in the rh rear lower corner of the tailgate. While there will be some who love the colour the car is in, I am looking to paint it in a new Holden colour (I think called sandstone metallic, with a cream roof). As I am a sucker for the classics, I am thinking about painting the motor all over in grey-motor grey.

how are you planning to do the engine conversion ? as in v6 conversion front end or crs or what ?

I have actually done a bit of both. I am running a Pat Gardner front crossmember, mounts and steering, and a CRS chassis kit and gearbox crossmember. I always wanted to go with having a chassis kit, and using the CRS gearbox mounting ties it all together quite nicely. All I need to do now is fit it all!!

I thought the same as Ratbox; nice lookin' wagon, why not drive it.
