im new to the fb world and am wondering what is involved in fitting an auto behind a 179 hp motor which is already in my fb is the transmission tunnel big enough

In a word - no . However , it is a fairly straightforward process to fit a bigger tunnel , they are available from CRS or V6 conversions , or cut one out of a HQ-Z .

This is not a very good pic of the CRS Tunnel. We also cut out the bracing under the tunnel and had to remake that bigger to tie the two rails underneath together. If you want more pics let me know, I have them.

Should also say you need to trim the CRS tunnel to suit your application. As a guide we cut 5 - 10mm off the front and about 2inches off the rear part to suit what we had done.
