Yes its from Melbourne - I think Ballarat.

I picked it up at Avalon airport two weeks back and drove it back up to Sydney that day with the missus. Ricki (prior owner) met me down there to help out, very nice and helpful bloke.

I paid 9k for it Gaz, but im very happy with the car. I couldnt get anything similar up here (Sydney) for the same price. It got a quick spray paint (windows still in etc) last year. She's great to drive and Shell ( the missus) absolutely loves it !!! She loves the power of course and how easy it is to view everything round the car for parking so she says, I recon its more to do with overtaking then parking. Eventually she wants air-conditioning in it  I pointed to the quarter windows and got hit.

Theres not much that requires fixing ... but it needs to be womanised for ease of Shell's driving. Already had to change the T Shifter ... Shell couldnt get one hand over it and was using two hands to get it into gear hahahaha, threw the shifter from panelvan into it. The front cross member is coming out and a new sump well will be cut in for the sump clearance. Its hitting atm and causing vibration in the steering wheel. Gearbox is close to shot, so thats getting a rebuild and the master cyclinder is close to gone. Brake booster will get moved also Andie :P will chuck it under the guard when the motors out.

Also Gaz , not sure if you can confirm .... Theres no 307 numbers stamped on the block, when a mate looked at it (monaro nut) he said it had 327 casting numbers on the side of the block. I showed him the 307 numbers off the rego papers but hes still adamant its a 327. Any idea ?

Women!

Don't they know the quarter-window is the greatest invention ever?

Open the quarter-window, crack open the side window and you've got infinitely adjustable air control.

Who needs air-conditioning?

...40 degree days stuck in peak hour traffic may be one exception.

scott, all that time spent on shells car, now means time lost on the van and ek sedan. You should of bought a project and bought yourself some time.

Ive told anne our new ek is hers, that way she will not pester me when im in the garage, ill tell her that swap meets are now important so we can get her parts, I love it, shes sat down with the nasco option book and told me what she wants. Little does she know that her car probally has one weekends work to get it up and about, and came with some good bits that i will soon use on my car.

Nice ej champion, any interior shots? I reckon you couldnt build it for that price, so to me its a score.

Cheers Gaz will give you a call !!

No interior shots ... its not flash, HR black buckets with matching rear seat and black carpet. Seats have tears in them and the dash is missing most of the premier gear - i.e no console/heater/radio and handbrake light. But like you mentioned Wayne :) good excuse to go out hunting for parts !! and being let off the hook.

Today is Shell's birthday ... hence why I cant make it to the club meeting tonight, have the family coming around in 30mins to an hour for dinner and cake.

Wheels done for her birthday thou ..... its actually not painful thinking of presents now :P

12 Series smoothies - 15x5 up front , 15x7 in the rear. Multistuds to fit the HQ front and &*#@ rear.

Theres not much work required for the EJ , so the Eks shouldnt suffer that much. Just a bit of paint, little welding for the front end and a new gearbox. All the engeering is done so its just swap outs !!!

Gaz I did get all the paper work with the car, has tons of receipts etc dating way back.

Will definetly keep the single pipe :) ... probably throw on venetians also, pending approval from the missus. I want the car looking mild as possible ! Been even tossing up the idea of the side chrome ( for some reason i like my holdens with no strips so the body lines are more obvious ) to get it looking more original.

Pete, your daughts EJ is lovely ! Could i please get some shots of the interior design, and possibly the boot latching system? This is my first time messing with an EJ , seems the tension bars are missing in the boot. Doesnt seem to use springs like the fb/eks , so im curious to know how it all fits together. Got the workshop manual but its only a little picture , and im not sure how it all physically links together. And that boot has some bloody weight to it with no springs/tension !!

Cheers
