i have a hr drum front end in my ek and i'm wondering what disks i can fit to them? what different stud patterns are available for this setup?

well i guess the aussie dollar is the decider on which you choose, if money is not a problem i'd suggest hoppers stoppers twin piston kit, they can make them in whatever stud pattern you want, but you need 15inch rim to cover them ....
theres also hq brakes which is probably the next easy step down in braking performance..... fairly much a bolt on job
then theres either lh torana or hr discs ... i like the LH discs because they have a nicer caliper (in my opinion) and i've been told they stop better than the hr disc, but who knows .... these will both be a fairly straight forward conversion
keeping in mind whichever way you go you will need a brake booster and probably need to change the rear brake wheel cylinders to suit discs.
also if you go for a commodore front stud pattern you will probably want to match the back ....

thaks for that sammy, i was told by the guy i bought my engine/ gearbox from that with the drum spindles i can fit commodore pattern disks. i thought i'd ask the people who know. i'm not sure what diff i have in the rear either, how do i figure out if its an ek, or if it's been changed to something else? i would love an lc diff so i can have major offset as i love the look of a huge outer lip. how hard is it to change the stud pattern of an lc diff?
you guys and girls on here are great!

i can't wait till the cars done so we can come to a club meet/ show and meet everyone in person.

to put any disc brakes on yor drum stubs you need adapters, LC/LJ,H/KTG,HQ and up discs you'll need the stub axles, you can use LH/LX/UC but this will through yor wheel alignment out, you can use any 13" holden type disc and calliper on any 13" holden type dic brake stub axle same goes for H/KTG and HQ up discs callipers and stubs
LC/LJ are the same stud pattern they didn't change till HQ
as for yor diff if you look at the rear of the housing the original housing where the centre goes is small and very round where the later ones are larger and more oval shaped, a pic from the rear will I.D it straight away

ahh yes there is a drum brake stub axle adaptor, how i forgot about this i don't know seeing how i have one on my torana!!
this is the adaptor that fits the drum stubs, all you need to do is machine the top section down a bit (where the allen key bolt goes into) and then its pretty straight forward .... it will accept most commodore calipers and just get the discs to suit.
