i want to cut down an original steering wheel any sudjestions ?
my thoughts are make a smaller hoop out of thick enough steel so as not needing to build it up, weld it to the original centre bar, dress it up paint it preferably in 2pak
does anybody have a better sudjestion or see any problems with this idea

Not to different to what pearlcraft or similar steering wheel places would do. Weld on a smaller hoop, so long as you get it centralized I think it would work really well.

It would be more fun if you don't quite centre it!

Actually, most wheels aren't centred, there off centre.
I'm not sure why manufacturers do this, but my way of thinking is that it allows a bit more room for the driver to squeeze himself between the seat and wheel.
Mercedes and some Euro small cars are oval in shape, its a weird feeling if your not used to it.
