Hi guys,

Can someone please tell me all the main differences between an fb and an ek sedan? Apart from the obvious body trims.

Hi Renee.Like you said body trims are different so won't go into that.Basically they are (apart from body trims)near identical.Fb's were only made in manual but EK's had manual and the new "hydramatic" 3 speed automatic gearbox and a slightly different floorpan to accomodate the auto gearbox.Most parts interchange on both models.FB had a different front scuttle panel to EK's(the panel between end of bonnet and front windscreen)....EK's had a 2 speed electric wiper motor to replace the often problematic vacuum wipers on the FB.The FB wiper motor worked on engine vacuum so ran quicker than a blender going downhill with your foot off the throttle when engine vacuum was high but on the minus side going uphill worked at snail pace with open throttle when engine vacuum was low.A lot of FB owners convert to EK electric wipers because of this.I'll see if I can find a few websites for you to look at to help.Look on this post again later, Regards Terry.

Thanks for your help, I definately want an ek then, cause I can't drive manual!(pretty sad eh!) Seen a couple for sale on ebay but in Queensland.
Oh well, I will keep looking!
