Hi everyone,
This is my 1962 Special sedan - "The RAT" - in Tuscany Yellow and Snowcrest White.
I bought it in October last year from country SA after seeing it listed on Ebay.
Prior to me, it was last registered and driven in 1991 and was in a shed for the 16 years in between.

It is running the grey motor and the 3-speed crash box with a 2 inch exhaust all the way through so it sounds a little bit like a tractor at the moment.
It is driveable and I try to drive it most weekends.
I had to overhaul the front brakes, clutch master cylinder and cooling system and there are still a few issues to get it running sweeet.

Things I want to do in the future include, HT 14in steelies all round, HR disc brake front end (replace dodgy Y-frames at the same time - does Rare Spares do these?), lowered and then waaay down the track, body work and respray.
There are lots of little things to do along the way and a few that I will need help/advice with, so look out for those upcoming posts! This forum is gold in that way!

Hoping to get down to the next meeting of the FB-EK Holden Car Club Of South Australia to check that out.

I put the peep mirror and headlight shields on last weekend to dress it up for a wedding.
I will post some pics of the interior and more soon.

The RAT looks to be a great start to a project.
Our club is having a day out at Belair National Park this sunday,

Thommo, don't think the old girl is quite ready for a trip that far from home (up in the north-east ghetto) and with all those nasty hills. It's not quite running on song - gotta get the carby overhauled and a few other tuning issues sorted. Thanks for the heads up though.

Yeah the rears are 14in and they have 8 kidney shaped slots in groups of 2.
Does this make them HK?
Are the HT steelies filled in (ie no slots) like the original 13in steelies?

BTW your car is one sweet ride, I love it! What colour is your roof? I've got something like that in mind for part of this project...

yes yor rear wheels are HK and as you assumed HT/G are more like the standard 13" wheels

Not sure if this is entirely allowed but here are some pics of my car with my mate's EH ute. It runs a worked 202ci six with a lumpy cam and Aussie four speed. The interior has been fully retrimmed in leather and the car has been resprayed inside and out. It has a hard tonneau trimmed with matching marine fabric. It rolls on original wheels and hubcaps. It is for sale so I can pass on details if anyone's interested.

The round disc on the parcel shelf - what is it?
The shelf under the LH side of the dash - is this a NASCO option?
Was the radio aerial a standard feature or option/aftermarket?

Round disc is what I assume to be a speaker grille. I have never seen one before, only the outline of the hole below which is stamped into the parcel shelf. Looks like a cool grille

Mexican blanket looks cool, rear parcel shelf looks awsome. Just off load the towbar + connector and adjust your wipers, drop her down a couple of inches, she'll look smick
and tell your mate to get a FB or EK

Thanks. Roof is Candy red over silver/gunmetal grey base.
