Im sorry Tim, but the Nationals will be minus one SA Entrant
I have started a new job and will not be able to get the time off.
I had already booked at the Calypso, but was unsure of my work situation.
Well the situation is not good
Its good I have a new job, but the timing is bad.
I have paid a $100 deposit at the Calypso Holiday Park which I will lose.
No refunds on long weekends, so that sucks too.
Jeff

Thanks for the update Tim,
momentum is building........
Sad to hear you won't make it Jeff................... we need to get word out that you have a room booking available - I was of the opinion that accommodation is becoming tight..................
We may be changin our plans as well - the "Mexican 2 Day Run" may be defunct........ the main "thrust" will be the three day run - for us, we may be leaving as early as Tuesday - to visit relatives in Coffs for a day or two......
Will post up notification on my Mexican Run post shortly.........
How many sleeps, Igor?.............. guess it's getting down to around 40-ish.
Thanks again Tim - just keep the "beautiful one day - perfect the next" weather available.

Rosco

gday
its with great regret, that i have to announce that we will also be missing this years nats
basically im in the same boat as thommo, with a new job of just 4 weeks
so the round trip(inc. the 3-4 day stay), that would've taken 7+ days....would ruin my chances of getting full time

we've even looked at flying over for a couple of days, but finances are stretched a.t.m...time will tell
ive tried to maintain a positive frame of mind right to the end....but im just kidding myself
we've also booked a park cabin at the calypso holiday park, so if its possible to tranfer the booking - then we would be keen to do so

its a damn shame, as we may be missing one of the biggest & best nats yet

(only our 2nd)
and was really lookin forward to catchin up with you guys
Oh well
*** have had some interest in the transfering of accomadation*** ---thanks jeff
will keep yous posted on the outcome
regards ray

Damn! thats bad news Ray. Was looking forward to seeing you guys.
With a new job of only 4 weeks you've made the right decision...important to keep the $'s coming in for the family and the EK...
at least the Nats is an annual event

...is it too early to mention 2009...?

Yes Stewart,
my sentiments entirely............... will sorely miss you both - had a ball at Forbes............. pretty confident we'll see you in '09 (or before)....
Good luck with your new "labor"................ its purpose is to provide for such things and sometimes the necessities.......

The famous Blue Lake in Mount Gambier will still be blue at Easter. It will change colour shortly after to the dull/grey-blue colour and stays that way until mid November when it miraculously changes to brillian blue again.
