Hello everyone, thought I'd have a go at posting a picture.
Image
Picked this up just before christmas.
Bought it from a guy who had most of the mechanical work sorted.
It has a recon 202 red with a 350 holley & extractors coupled to a trimatic also has a HR disc brake front end.
Looks like it was painted about 5 years ago and has a bit of rust coming through here & there, nothing major though but a respray is planned. See if I can remember how to do what I used to do 20 years ago!
Even though the last guy spent a lot on mechanicals there is still things to do like: fuel sender replacement, leaks in petrol tank, radiator re-core, shifter linkage adjustments and replace the accelerator linkage with a cable to stop the motor hitting against the linkage. Its great to drive, off the road for a bit while I get a buckle taken out of one of the rims.
Lovin it!

Not able to come to that, but I'll be trying hard to come along next time you have a meeting/get together at East Vic Park.
Anyone have any idea what colour my ute is and if it is a factory colour?

Bit hard to say from that pic, kinda looks like an original colour - post the details off your body tags and we will decipher them for ya.

Thanks Blacky
I'll post it later tonight. Its a cream colour, looks like an original colour to me.

I remember seeing a lot of commercials running around in that ( or similar ) colour when I was a kid.

I'd say its an original Holden colour or one very close to it.

Nice ute dave, you've got to be happy with that
I reckon the colour is Steve Jacksons favourite, Honey Beige 8)

nice ute dave,
did you buy it off evilbay

yeh, it was on evilbay. I already had a ute that needs a lot more spent on it to get it up to the standard of this one, so I did the sums and reckon I was way in front, especially when I sell my other one. I'll be able to make it properly mine when I re-spray it.

Nice ute mate

Sticking with the same colour for the re-spray ? Its not a bad colour.

Blacky, the paint code is 585-4677, maybe you can tell if its the original colour or not.
I'm not sure if I'll do it the same color, always wanted a pale sky blue ute.
Personally I think that the factory colours always suit them and never date so if they came out in a pale blue which I think they did, I'd look at that.
Looks like I'm sending my fuel sender offf for a recon job as I broke the wire shaft while trying to free it up.

Paint Code - 585-4677 is Cottesloe Cream
Very appropriate for a Western Australian car
