hey guys.
Q1
i am about to change out the diff in the old girl and want to put a 9in with HQ pattern hubs (drum brakes) and will be putting a set of 15 x 6in convo pros mags on it, they have a 3.375 rear offset. will these fit inside the guards with the diff shortened to standard EK length or will i have to shorten it further

any help would be appreciated

i am currently running HQ front brakes with the standard ek drums on the back, with a vh44 booster(back brakes dont seem to do much with this setup) so have looked at a mates setup and hes running HQ master cylinder and booster with a modified pedal box, which is alright for him as he runs an auto but is no good for me because it covers the clutch mastercylinder area what should i be looking at doing here

again any sugguestions and info would be great

The way I did my diff was to remove the old housing then put the wheels with tyres on under the car.
I lowered the car to the right ride height and checked the clearances top bottom and side to side.
When that was right I simply measured betwen the rims and that was my final diff housing width.
With the brakes you could use a long rod and set the booster/master cylinder combo foward to clear the bonnet hinge with a step out bracket to support it.
Some people say its not factory like but it does work.

rocket industries want $470 a wheel and vpw.com wasnt much cheaper(not including freight) so bought them from summit racing in the states for $850AU for 4

Yep, I`m hearing ya, I had the same drama , a well known Aussie wheel retailer wanted $400 odd EACH for 14x6 steel rims !!!!
Bought them from the US for $49.50 each - bought the rims, hubcaps, wheel nuts, valve caps, and trim rings landed on the front doorstep for $715 Aus dollars
Opened the box and found a free magazine and Tshirt. The yanks have got their shit together when it comes to customer satisfaction.

just got the cost of shipping $260AU so all up my wheels delivered to my door is going to be $1110...... $700 cheaper than rocket or vpw

I had mine shipped surface mail, took 9 weeks but only cost $160 or so from memory.

yeah mine comming by air 7-30 days
