i know some people have been interested in cruise control, i just fitted an electronic cruise control Autostrada is the brand they are quite expensive (around $800) luckily i picked mine up new but second hand half price, the instructions are a little vague in places but they have a very friendly and helpful technical department and with their help it was a pretty easy fit up

That old school one I stuck in the ute works a treat - it takes a little while to settle down when you first activate it - I had it set to 108 most of the way going home and it would drop down to just over 100 before stabilising but once it did it stayed within a couple of km of 108.

Probably a moot point seeing as they are no longer available but I wasn't spending $800 on one.......

probably needs some fine tuning if you could be bothered, i've had a few command brand vacuum operated ones and the same unit as yours in my hiace and they all hold speed they are set at (except on hills but will accelerate to speed)
yeah i always thought $800 was to dear but i absolutely love cruise control and can not for the life of me hold a vehicle at a constant speed (always end up 15-20+ over where i want to be) and i also find using the accelerator quite a pain in the RRRS so while i'll look for second hand units if i can't find one and can afford it i'll spend the money now, and now that i've fitted this one i won't have to pay someone to fit it (unit in hiace $500 purchase $700 fitting though i got ripped on the fitting due to them being morons)

Had them fitted in a few different cars at work. Same unit, different cars. Worked well in land cruisers but in patrols it would slow down going up hills, then when you got to the top they would accelerate way over the set speed. $*#@ dangerous.

the worst one i ever had was a factory fitted one kinda my fault though as they said don't use in the wet which i did  5L VN calais (standard that i know of but was a very quick car) it would quite often kick down hard and shoot off and lose traction, would do this even over 100kph, i've had plenty of V8 commodores since 5L and 5.7 none have done the same as that car would
