It has a 235 in it but comes with a running 327 so that will most likely end up in the hole

Tough stance on that truck, looks neat. What is the extra pedal (forward of gear change lever) for?

Regards
Stephen

The half-ton (3100's) are a neat piece of kit. Should fit the 327 and still have room to stand either side of it in the engine bay.

Cheers,
Harv

The push button on the floor is the start switch - is an early Chev thing - my 46 had one originally as well.

Is it going to stay a 4x4 mate or put anew frame under it.

Its going to stay as close to exactly how it is as possible and still be able to be licenced - new windscreen and door rubbers are a given, the rest I will decide when its in front of me.

Got bored the other day and pulled the 327 down to see why it had no compression on a couple of pots -

valves were moving so whizzed the heads off - found this ….

That may have something to do with it Image
Original bore but it has a fair old ridge in it

Bit funky in the water jackets …

That looks like a low compression engine anyway.

327 from that era are normally small journal steel crank, the block is the key here, 2 bolt small journal and 4 inch bore. Not easy to find.

Yeah its atruck engine, has the governor built into the dizzy and the low comp. heads - perfect for an early Holden in WA as they base the horsepower rating on the stock engine and this would have made bugger all
Haven't pulled the sump yet but dollars to donuts its a 2 bolter.
