Hi guys I’m needing to paint my firewall now that all my repairs are done to put my kframe back on.
My question to everyone is I’m painting the firewall black and the car grey but does anyone have a photo of where the black finishes and colour starts at the A pillar dog leg under windscreen corner? Any photos would help.

If you can be bothered trolling back through my ute build should be images. I painted the dash, plenum and firewall all in clinker grey satin as per factory. I kept the division just under the edge of the front guard.

Thank you for that! Is there different variations?

My understanding is that cars other than Adelaide assembled had an all black ("clinker grey") firewall matching the inner guards colour, where mine as an Adelaide body, had the top section of the firewall the body colour. Of course many paint their cars the body colour in the engine bay too. The world is your oyster

. In terms of the A pillar, everything you can see with the door open is body colour.
It's all new to me too, so more experienced members may have better info.

Mine is just a generic 'flat' black where it is black. I didn't chase the elusive 'clinker grey'. Gloss is easier to keep clean looking I guess.

Not really elusive. There is a standard Dulon formula for Protec PPG acrylic. Having said, gloss body colour firewall always looks nice.

It is nice but will show any imperfection in colour I think I’m going to go gloss black all engine bay then it will hide my attempt at bodywork deep in the engine bay. Shadows are my friend
