Station Wagon Tailgate Mechanism

Guys I'm working on a station wagon tailgate, it didn't come with a complete mechanism so I was putting it all together to mock it up.
I had some bits left over from Franks tailgate namely the locking rods (not sue if that is the correct name) when I put them in the tailgate the seem to long.
Can anybody tell me if the are actually different.

I reckon a wagon tailgate would be a fair bit narrower than a ute gate Neil , I have a couple of tailgates in EKmart , will check how complete they are, what bits are you missing ?

Thanks guys.
Blacky it looks like I am missing the 2 rods and I have a handle but it is not in that great a nick and it is locked, no key I'm up for drive tomorrow if you have anything.

Roger the measurements make sense I would say the Ute rods would be about that much longer.

Thanks for the replies.
Neil

Maybe you could modify them Neil??? ;-)

And while I’m being cheeky, how about posting up some shots of the wagon project.
Cheers,
Clay

Those handles went through to WB, yet they are not easy to come by.

Went and did a visit to EKMart and came away with some bits and pieces I needed thanks to Mr Black.
Photo shows the difference in the lengths of the Ute and Station Wagon rods.

Hi Neil,
I believe that Rare Parts / Rare Spares have the rods and also the mechanism for the handle. No handles but.
I discovered this AFTER refurbishing mine for the van.
