I've been tinkering with cars for a while and ended up with too many so I sold one...but as soon as the money came in I found this EK on eBay. It reminded me of the family FB in the 60s so I got it trucked up.

Welcome - 5 years?.. nup - this'll be up and running way under that,
What we need you to do is make a start... but where?

Kindly tell me that you are going to store this amazing collectable under cover?.... it is screaming at you to look after it - gleaming it's best attempt to entice you to love it...

Very much look forward to watching a new build commence and endure..

Don't be afraid to ask - this is a great forum for knowledge, skills and experience.

frats,
Rosco

Body ID plate says EK. Bonnet says EK. Interior says EK. Front guards, bumper overriders, grille and indicators say FB.

Im going EK,

Windscreen cowl is EK as well.

Good luck with the build and make sure there's plenty of progress pics.

5 years is doable if nothing else gets in the way.

Yes, we've got some work to do... I'm beginning to believe your original time frame... doable, easily doable... bit by bit - and will probably outlive you if you do it right....

Great thread... keep going. And yes, EK..... you have some "spare" FB parts there... may get a swap for some of them in here...

passenger side front corner of subframe had previously had 'something' welded into it and covered with putty - no drain hole - probably just to get it through rego one time... (btw some of the floor has been 'fixed' with tin and pop rivets)

New pieces and good as new !

The utes had an inner, outer and a third internal strengthener in the sills, cut them out and replacing isn't as hard as one would think. If you do that though make sure there is some bracing so the body wont twist, especially if you have the floors out as well.

Its just rust no big issue just time and patience.

Yes you’ve got some work ahead of you. If your bonnet is straight, you might pick up a bent one with solid corners, but it is a common rust area. They fill up with leaf matter and dirt, forming a rust poultice.

Get the door gaps right and tack them to the B-pillar at the bottom rear edge near the sill. Then you can turn it upside down or flip on the side and fit new inner sills. The doors can then be reopened to facilitate floor pan replacement, then finally outer sills, which must be done with the doors on. Repairing and attaching the bottom of the panel rear of the B-pillar is tricky. Haven’t worked out how to do that one yet.

Have a look at my panel van thread. Car was in a similar state to yours.
