can get a modern version from Rares - 38$ a length and you need two - it's a bit plastic feeling but for a resto mod should work well mate

The PHD-40ML hose is still available from eBay or Repco. About $30.

I think Andrew might mention it in his guide:

Only issue with the Repco duct is you need hose clamps to hold it on as they are slightly larger - I believe the original is 1.5 inch (38mm) whereas the new Repco hose is 40mm. That was my experience anyway.

I found that the 40mm hose fits well inside the rubber repro heater ducts down on the heater. It was pretty loose though on the demister ducts up under the dash. I wrapped duct tape around the demister duct inlet pipe stubs until they were thick enough, then slid the 40mm hose on without clamps.

Must have been the only time I have ever used duct tape on an actual duct  .

I'm worried what you do with those Ducks Bones after wrapping them in Duct tape :esurprised:

I need the ducting so that I can fit the little electric demister that I have purchased 12v 600W 40mm outlets, picked up some PHD-40ML from Repco yesterday they had to sorts 40ML and 40MS so I assume by the look of them that 40ML the L stands for Long and the MS S stands for short :wtf:

I've popped the switch out and extended the wires so that I can remote the switch.

Hey Neil,
That is a very compact heater you've got there. What size cables are you running for that given it is rated at a whopping 600 watts? That is some serious current draw.

600 W !!! That's 50 Amps @ 12 V.

You'll need an extra alternator just to run the heater element.

Yep, that was my calculation too, plus the wee current drawn drawn by the fan.

Thanks for the concern guys  but I don't believe it is 600W really have a look at the size of the cables coming out of it :esurprised: :wtf:
It appears to have 2 small computer fans in it and not sure of the heater elements.
Because its chinese i tested it as soon as I got it by just holding the cales against a spare battery terminals and it seemed to go ok however me being a grease monkey and not an electricians a hole may mean I am totally wrong.
I know one of the photos says 24v but the one I received is 12v as I stipulated when ordering.

Looks like a neat solution to pass rego Neil. Would be nice if you could switch between windscreen and floor.
