hydo or trimatic

how can i tell if i've got an tri-matic or hyro-matic...

If you've got a red motor, I'd be 99% sure you'd have a trimatic behind it... but then again stranger things have happened.

when selecting gears if the first gear out of park is reverse it's a tri if reverse is all the way at the oposite end from park it's a hydro also if it is extra slow with horrible gear changes it's a hydro

I'm picking up the car on sunday at noon... after i found out that it hasn't been touch for four weeks... (i'll check gear selection then)...

all i need done is the thing that stops the car starting in gear... and the thing put into the steering column that put reverse lights on & most important... the speedo, so i know how fast i'm driving...

mephious or any other sydney siders know of anyone that can help me out... or should i just take it to jo blow down the road...
