Factory exhaust different from FB to Ek ?

Hi all, not sure if this sounds stupid, I ordered 2 factory replacement standard exhaust system through a wholesaler..we had to have them made as they had none already made, I said I needed the to fit my EK ute and a FB Van, both systems turned up 3 weeks later, identical, the were wrapped as 2 engine pipes together, matching, 2 mufflers-matching, & two tailpipes, agin matching..but when fitted the system up on the ute it appeared that the muffler was 100mm to short, so I rang the muffler shop and he say it won’t fit an EK..it was ordered for a FB.!
He said EK is different..I argued this and said well it’s the same manifold, engine mounts, floor pan(manual) yadda yadda!
Anyone any different..?
