Perhaps a supercharged Commer Knocker engine?.....These knockers have a cool engine note, much like a GM two stroke.

Hey Neil, tell her it's garden art but keep collecting bits and pieces for it until you get the Frankenstein ute out of the shed, then you can slip it in. She will never know.
