looking for an alternative to the stock EK ute fuel tank, seen the stainless tanks made by Streetneat , not sure if they're still available?.. &*#@ XA XB would be too large dimensionally!...Any other alternatives?....I could go maybe 50mm wider but I don't think I could go any longer length ways in the ute.

Would I be correct in assuming this tank is too low to comply with modified vehicle guide lines?

Not sure what engine you have but I am running a VP Commodore tank in my ute project, #1 because it has the in-tank fuel pump and return line just have to move the filler neck only have to modify the opening a little but I will probably replace the tank surround area fully anyway.

#2 I use this tank because I am going V6 and I did the same mod for my FC Sedan.

The tank in the photo is not compliant if it sits lower than the diff.

I used a XH Falcon ute tank- same reasons as why Firekraka listed.
Only small issue it sits higher than the original floor height. ok if you cover it with a false floor

Hard to tell without the bumpers etc in place. The tank has to have a minimum ground clearance of 100mm (anything less than 200mm has to be shielded), meet the departure angle requirement, and not hit the ground if a tyre deflates.

Departure angle is from the static loaded rear tyres to the lowest, rearmost extremity of the original GMH permanent body work - easiest way to think of it is that if you grabbed the front wheels and lifted them up (and up, and up), the rear bodywork hits the ground before the fuel tank does.

Thanks for the replies Gents!....I spoke to the guy that made the tanks for Streetneat today, I'm going to take a few measurements and order one from him, not the cheapest option I know, but will be bolt in and compliant.

The tank in that pic looks compliant Phil. What is it mate?

Clay the tank in the pic is one of Martin Dean's (M&C Dean Fabrications) stainless steel tanks, the one pictured is at least, if not more than 50mm deeper than standard.
