Gday All

Im an avid EK/early Holden fan and have been enjoying this site for a while. Its great to see so many active and helpful members. I recently purchased this van off Ebay.

I know the lights ........... :(

My fiance'e and I flew down to Melbourne on the 23rd of June and drove it back to Sydney that same day - 10:00am depature from Mel - 21:30 arrival in Syd ( 6 fuel stops , lunch and dinner ). The van didnt have one problem on the long drive back.

There are plans in the work for the van ( yes !!! this includes getting the rear back to original if i can find the rear quaters off a donor ), but they will be delayed as rego/engineering for roadworthy is taking the front seat. Van is already sporting a set of 5 spoke dragways.

If you guys see me driving round Sydney ( the Van is going to be my run around ) please dont hesitate to say a hello.

Thankyou for the warm genuine welcome guys.

I currently have my old EK sedan's 179-bored 192 which will be swapped with the current 179 in the van. I have a 9inch waiting to be fitted with old holden stud pattern. These will definetly go in for the engineer cert and NSW rego.

Will try source some HQ stud pattern 5 spoke dragways for the front wheels so I can slap the CSR drop spindles upfront with HQ calipers which are sitting in the garage. Would like to squeeze these in too on the engineer cert.

Eventually down the track possibly a V8 will go in, but its a way off as the front cross member, steering, block and turbo350 will be required.

As for the rear lights original is the only option...... to put the sedan/wagon fins is a huge job if I try to keep the proper lines. Would probably be easier to cut a wagon up and place the turret of the van on top. Easy to see the drop in the lines with the below pics over the rear wheels.

P.S thanks guys hope you dont mind me poaching your pics for the example.

My sedan aint too far off completion also, hence the latency for the van upgrades ( misses will be pissed with a second project with one under way). Once the sedan's done I will post some pics of it also. Currently getting its wiring done and then wheels and a little bit of panel work.

Sedan/wagon tail lights are a lot of work.
Hemi here in Adelaide pulled it of beautifully, but with a different method.
This is a Sedan with Van roof added

That is a pretty bloody nice Panel Van Thommo !! Hemis done a great job on it !!! The lines work nicely with the fins must be the sedan bottom, its really well done !!

After undoing the inner panels within the van it appears the original tail lights have just been sheared off and the original shape is underneath packed with maybe bog , or tacked wb paneling over the top of the original shape. Wont know until its stripped down I guess :(
but theres a shitload of bog around the tail light area which isnt smoothed out that well so there is some hope !!

6500 for the purple one Ratbox ?

In Sydney you would get that no troubles. I cant remember your vans running gear however.
The big push to go down south for me was the disc front end, the red motor (wanted something to put my old red from the sedan in) and the auto box - so misses could run round in it ( as well as it was a panelvan!). Have no regrets what soever purchasing it and for Sydney prices it was cheap.

This is the only other panelvan I know for sale in sydney http://sydneyexchange.com.au/adreply2.php?g=318487
