EK Wiper Switch

Post by Alex's EK »

I know this will probably sound a bit stupid, but i was just wondering something... with the wiper switch, i actually had to source the surround and the knob (i got the actually switch from EK JAY with my wiper motor), but im absolutely perplexed, even though i have owned 2 eks in my short life they NEVER come with an original switch..... anyway, i have no idea what the button is for, also i presume u twist it to change the speed... am i right??? im so confused its not funny.

Please help me with whatever you can

Cheers,

Alex

The button is for the washers - if the car has them. The standard wiper motor is two speed- off or on
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi

On the subject of wiper motors.
I notice one of the RTA requirements when doing an engine conversion from grey to red motor in NSW is.

Wipers shall complete at lest 48 sweeps per minute. i.e: one sweep of the glass up and back is classed as one cycle/sweep.

Next time you are bored while driving in the rain try counting the the number of times your wipers belt up and down... oh and dont forget to watch the road and your watch while you are doing it

Hmm maybe best to wait till ya get to a set of slow traffic lights

Good point Reddo and one that has always had me pondering as well!!

Why did they come up with that figure??

Do they actually sit there and count the number of sweeps or do they just look to see if it has an electric wiper and just tick the form.

Sorry sir but there was only 47 sweeps in that minute, I'll have to tick that as a fail!!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!....................................

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
