Mick and Blackys excellent adventure

There were rumours at the station , and the word was passed around
That there was an old EK up Wubin way
She was parked up and all broken , had been driven into the ground
and this caused Mick and Blacky to say
"lets load the beer and trailer , some swags and tucker too
Its time we went and saved this poor old girl"
Blacky cant write poetry for shit , this is plain to see -
but hes drunk and though that he'd give it a whirl
ANYWAY - we got word of an EK and a heap of other old cars on a property a few hours north of Perth so a plan was hatched, we were going to leave at sparrows this morning and go for a look , taking 2 cars and 2 trailers. as luck would have it I got a last minute job about 9 hours northeast of Perth so I set off on Tuesday and Mick left Friday and we met up Friday night at Micks mates joint .
At work -
On the way back on Friday I stopped at a wreck I had known about for years and grabbed a couple of bits
It would have been at least 10 years since I had picked this car and it had not been touched - shes hidden pretty good
The roof is mint , not even the tiniest spot of rust and not a dent to be seen - from the rear seat back is the same story barring the bottom of the left quarter , but from there forward its rusty as buggery from sitting on the ground for who knows how many years. Next time I am up there and have an offsider the rear and the A pillars are coming home then she is buggered.
Anyway , drove to Wubin and met up with Mick , we had a feed and several refreshing fantas then I fell into me swag and we were up and into it by 5:30 , had a ute of Micks mates to unload, my trailer to hook on then were off on the hunt
A short drive later we spotted our prey off in the distance -
She was not giving up without a fight, took some finding even from close range !!
It had been pranged in 1975 and has been sitting here ever since !!!
The tree had grown around the bonnet hinge
Anyway, out with the chainsaw and after moving a heap of railway line , shed trusses , sheets of corrugated iron and various other junk we got some wheels on her and dragged her out
She is a factory Auto , Perth built body number 25 , had a couple of extras
There were a couple of other cars worth looking at and quite a few that weren't , best of the rest was this EJ
There was also an FJ which Mick was keen on but we decided it wasn't worth bringing back to Perth , it was pretty hammered although we did get a pretty decent set of front guards off it
