I bought this bonnet bar on Ebay for a customers EK , i,m not saying where but it would be an easy guess , . it was listed as being faultless , as soon as i un wrapped it there was a crack in the cast in the top edge & had been chromed over & it looks shit house . it wouldn,t be so bad if it wasnt in plain view , , any how i sent it back , the next thing i know i,m blocked from his store with the response that my expectations are to high , the way i see it i wouldn,t pay top dollar & use it on my car & i cant expect a customer with a restored EK to accept it either , , i,ve spent a shit load with this joker & only sent 2 other things back . one broken & one faulty , rant over , just letting you know

if it was expensive and described as faultless i'de have sent it back also, did you get a refund?
as long as you got a refund i wouldn't worry that you've been blocked, it sucks that you can't buy from him any more but sounds like someone i wouldn't want to buy off him anyway after that

I hope you left negative feedback - people like that make ebay a painful experience

If you arent happy especialky from a dealer they shoukd have a no questions asked return policy.
Faultless means exactly that.
Ive been in business over thirty years and always tell my customers when they are leaving if there are any problems bring it back.
Even on ebay I say if you arent happy with my description send it back.
So far so good.

I like the Ratbox selling philosophy:
Describe it well, warts and all, and point out the flaws. No suprises for the buyer, and no arguments later.

, and the Bootlegger refund policy:
If it ain't right, bring it back for a refund.

Between those two, it takes a lot of the drama out.

Cheers,
Harv

gee thanks :) alot of the time i think it bites me on the arse by making things sound worse than they are :? but years of looking at cars and 9.5 times out of 10 being dissapointed i like to be the person that leaves people pleasantly surprised

i don't really think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out who may have sold the above item, here's some clues on my guess
sells lots of early holden stuff on ebay
emphasis on EARLY
usually at exorbitant prices

Could be the photo but the chrome doesn't look that great either. :(

Was is an auction, or a buy it now.
You also still have your standard buyers rights if was "buy it now".

Gday fella,s , i didnt think it would take more than one stab in the dark to work out who it is ,, The chrome was mostly good except in that one spot , the top R/H upper section was crap , i mean shit happens from time to time & i,m not an arse hole to deal with but to tell me that my expectations are to high & block me , truth is he tried to palm off a sub standard part & had a sook because it didnt work , i had a sneaky suspicion because it was wrapped up execessably in bubble wrap & it was buy now , & then i get a warning that if it doest arive by 24 th this month i wont get a refund ,

G'day Nev. I'm tipping its "EarlyBitz" although I know of one other down Melbourne way that does bumpers and bits (I got stung too).

Nev,
you have every right to complain - far too many would wear crap like this, and the greedy blighters become complacent.
Standing up for your consumer rights should not cause you any discomfort - I'm certain if the boot was on the other foot, you'd have this person pounding his fists on your door AND publicly defaming you.

As for getting blocked - he's actually doing you a favor... but don't let him know, that barb will cut deeper when he gets it third party (like this).

We have not done chrome yet - it will be postponed until it simply "has" to be done.. and, if I can find OEM - I'll opt for that way before I have anything re-plated. I haven't seen many who can either do this to last - or to a standard which nears that of original.
The one I do know about who I would consider - charges like gold is being applied - and has the social dignity of a tip-rat.. but produces good quality.

It's further distressing to learn that you are a long-term established customer - and that this person would off-load a botch job like this on you to pass on at risk of disgracing your trade... that, Nev - is shameful enough.... let alone falsely advertising that it is perfect, or words to that effect.

Yes, indeed - I do hope the next victim posts feedback on the sale site of their dis-satisfaction....
I believe you can now appreciate as to why you were blocked... hard to post feedback when your hands get tied.

Naming publicly has serious implications - if this person is thick-skinned enough to try and pull the wool by supplying crap - they undoubtedly will seize on the option to persue compensation for defamation...

thanks for posting - hope others take note, we the little people who do not have the commercial strength of the trade - what hope do we have of satisfactory expectation... if this is done to an established client within the trade...?

frats,
Rosco
