Brenno,
Does that thing have a model number inside the casing (or printed outside)? The kiwi models are here:
http://www.nzvrs.pl.net/aaa/HMV_NZ, but the Aussie ones are harder to track down without a specific model number.
The Little Nipper model was popular, and included both house radios and automotive ones. Nipper is the dog you can see looking into the gramophone on the HMV logo.
Cheers,
Harv (experienced HMV radio magic smoke releaser)

I don't reconise the stations on the face plate?..
I know some car radios had two types of face plates, one for the western states and one for the eastern states

A quick Google search of those stations tells me it's from Northern Territory
