My first...

Well,
I said over in the "got something to say" thread
that I would post when she's on the road.
well...
Can't wait.
Can't even wait for decent photos.
I've been cutting and polishing for three days now.
MAN THERE'S a lot of paint on these ol' girls!
ha ha
Not to mention the chrome.
ooohh shiny... heh heh
well crap photos or not, here's my first ever FB.
I love her
After a trip from Perth to Bris on the back of a
truck, she looked like she'd been in a shed for
twenty years (Nullarbor dust) and She's got more
stone chips than a
Japanese gardener's rake...
But with elbow grease She's gleaming and outshining
the flaws.
You can bet I'll be posting some poser photos before long
The second and third photos make her look blue but she's green
like the first photo (A bit of a blur but the colour's close).
I need a few things tho. Anyone help my with a
bird? Special badges and a couple of stars! She's
naked without the jewelery !
P.S. Need a spring for a wiper arm. Can I just use any ol' spring from other GMH wiper arms of a similar era?

Cheers Trev,
The triples are great so far. Haven't done heaps of driving yet but they seem to be perfect for me. The only thing is they are idling a bit high and am about to try and sort that out.
Just need to sort wipers and a few little things for rego. can't wait!!!

Well I can say for sure now the triples are fantastic. Still haven't got
them to idle as low as I would like but they are otherwise dialed in
and initial testing is very pleasing. They seem to provide good fuel
economy and loads of revs when needed.
I haven't done anything scientific regarding fuel economy due the
bloody speedo making such a racket that I disconnected it the day
I did a highway test. Having said that it drew about 26 litres for
approx 220km and approx 20litres for about 175 km town driving
(and a fair bit of test fanging too).
It's late and I'm not sure about my maths when I'm tired but
here goes an attempt at imperial fuel economy.
So that's town 25 mpg
and highway 24 mpg
no that can't be right?
let me try again
oh sod it... it's too late. I'm guessing the highway one anyway. I'll try
again tomorrow.
anyway here's my latest pic. Can't wait to lower her
Cheers

yeah thanks Smooth... ha ha
Can't get my bloody hand up there.

I tried for a while but after
squeezing my hand, dropping the bloody nuts and bolts a dozen times each
and trying to hold them in place with tools too big for the job, I thought
"bugger it, they're only coming off when I get retro plates anyway, I'm
going for a drive!!!"
mayyyyybe I'll have another crack at it. I kinda like it there. It's my
number plate diffuser .
ha ha don't quote me on that

Here you go Mephious,
It's not a brilliant shot. I'll try to take a better one later.
You can kinda see that there is NO room next to the firewall.
The intake flute is right under the regulator and nearly touches the firewall.

looks good and it would be good to be driving it
i had the same thought as smooth as soon as i saw the photo re: the number plate, just drill holes in the bottom of the number plates

Thanks Stewart, yeah it sure did. I'm very happy. Now the search for
a wagon...
ratbox, good thinking. Thanks

and yes she is a fantastic drive.
Today I got 265kms from 25litres on the highway. I think that's nearly
30mpg? I'm amazed and she wants to fly. 'Go' the grey power

.
Sunny Tim... Missed it. Didn't see the post until I got home (late).
Another time for sure. I'm away from Monday for a couple of months
so when I get back.
Mephious... Sorry I didn't get around to that photo today. I was flat out.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Kindly
Dominic

Here you go Mephious,
You can see there is NO room and the firewall has been massaged with something heavy in order to accommodate the triples.
Kindly
P.S. I'm off for a couple of months now so this will be my last post for a while. I look forward to catching up when I'm back. Thanks to all for the kind words and helpful advice.
Keep on rolling... shiny side up
