G'day all, couple of questions that I cannot seem to answer through my own research:
1/ Panic straps fitted to rear passenger area - fitted to some vehicles but not all; they do not appear in the nasco catalogue as an option but appear to be otpional, anyone help me out here?
2/ I have seen photos of some Station Sedans with metal strips on the floor and back of the seat in the rear cargo area; from what I can work out, standard wagon were fitted out in this way as were more like a commercial vehicle, I am assuming you could order this extra trim when you ordered a new Station Sedan as a special, can anyone enlighten me on this one. Thanks Al

I have a special EK station sedan. It has panic straps and the cargo is all vinyl. I always thought the metal strips were for standards.

My Special wagon has no panic straps, and a full vinyl cargo area.

Thanks for your replies. So, can anyone else enlighten me on why some specials have the metal tracks in the cargo area a-la standard station sedan and why do some specials have panic straps and some don't? interested to find this out.

Also, has anyone been able to find or take a photo of the spare wheel clamp on a station sedan? thanks. Al

Hi Guys.

According to the parts catalogue, assist straps were factory standard for sedans only, for FE/FC/FB/EK/EJ. The first wagon to get them was the EH Premier wagon.

It would appear that any wagons which had them prior to that would have been dealer fitted.

Can someone put a photo up as I am fitting mine to sedan but don't know where the strap part fits (Ie vinyl handle piece) it has a press stud on it but does it screw to the stainless at the bottom as well or the hood lining.

That is what I thought ,the chances of finding that hole without making a mess in the hood lining are next to none so I will have to drive so as not to make the back seat passengers PANIC because they wont have anything to hold onto. :laughinggg: :laughinggg: :laughinggg:
Thanks anyway Wayne

We used a sewing needle to poke around until we found the holes.
You should get a reasonable idea where the hole is for the panic strap from the pics?

See what I can do for the rear view mirror.. :)

Fit a taxi-bar Billy... as long as the kids in the back seat still only have milk-teeth  .
