Long shot: Olbis or McGee injection for a grey

This is probably a really, really long shot, though you can only try.

I'm interested in getting my hands on either a set of Olbis injection, or McGee injection to suit a grey. Happy also to look at part setups.

I know this stuff is rare as rocking horse poo... would be willing to trade for twins/triples or a Norman, with cash adjustment either way.

Cheers,
Harv

Harv, have a look at the setup at the bottom of the page.

http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... 25&t=15642

Its an injection setup on a red Armours manifold.

It would bolt easily to a grey Armours manifold.

Have you any idea what brand it might be?

Its not really for sale, but Id love to know its origins.

Cheers, Craig.

Not sure, but doesn't look like McGee. The McGee units I've seen for greys have only three runners/trumpets, and bolt direct to the head (no bolt holes, just uses the cylinder head curved washers). I've only ever seen one of the Olbis units, and even then only on a photo of the Semi Hemi FED.

Harv

Don't think it is McGee. These are the only images I have:

Dave's grey motor McGee from the hydroplane:

Grey motor McGee from Australian Hot Rod November 1966:

Grey motor McGee on Johnie Stewart's Trackburner speedcar:

Olbis on the Semi hemi slant 6:

This also came in today (thanks Ritchie!) from Australian Hot Rod September 1969. It's Howarth injection, made by the Sydney Carburettor Service Conmpany for reds:

Forgot I had this one... got distracted by the Norman. Olbis injection (albeit on a red), Jeff Burnett's Alki-Burner FJ gasser, from Hot Holdens and Customs #2:

That 2" SU takes over from the injection for idle.

Sorry Andrew, at the time I passed on it and bought something else. It's since been sold and lives in NSW with a speedway fan. That's all I know.

Bump.

Still looking for an injection set to suit the grey motor.

I've had a play with a Howarth set and done the writeup (http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... 25&t=21645). I'm now keen to do a similar thing with an Olbis set.

Anyone got an Olbis injection set (or parts) that they would either sell or loan me?

Cheers,
Harv

Bump. Still hunting for any leads on Olbis injection. There must be at least one survivor out there.

Closest I have come in the last three years was a set owned by 4hammers in Tasmania. It sold long ago. Spoke to 4hammers (an interesting hunt in itself), and sadly he cant remember who he sold it to.

Cheers,
Harv

Did Rob (4Hammers) remember that I sold it back to him when I sold my EK? If not he may have it stashed in his shed and he forgot about it, or he sold it on again after he bought it back from me. He had tonnes of good grey motor stuff.
