Id stay away from all the ebay units. Ive heard too many bad stories.

Get a blue motor electronic or stick with points.

Get the Holden electronic unit recoed if you are worried.

Theres nothing wrong with points, and you can fix them on the side of the road at night in the rain with one screwdriver if it ever lets you down.

Cheap parts are very rarely good.

Quality costs money.

I've been working through how the Petronix conversions work over the last few days. The more I understand, the better they are. If you have an aversion to points and only want to spend about $100, they appear to be good value. I'll post my Pertronix notes in the magneto thread in the next couple of days.

... don't 'spose you want to run a dwell meter over your Petronix, or measure the air gap with a feeler gauge by any chance Wayne  ?

Cheers,
Harv
