Here we go again .....

We arrived n Adelaide yesterday and picked the ute up and off we went into the hills where we belong
We drove up to Birdwood to the motor museum , stopped and had a pie and a coffee then headed off to Lyndoch where we had accommodation organised for the first two nights.
Woke up this morning , had a nice leisurely breakfast then we were off to get stuck into some local wine and tucker at some of the many wineries around this neck of the woods. Having a great old time.
Went to go to the next winery where we were gonna have some lunch and the ute starts running like a bag of crap, wont pull top gear , 30MPH tops
, drive to a servo and try to sort it out and it appears that the dizzy cap and rotor button are cactus , pull them out , clean them up ,buggerise around a bit with it and it seems to be OK but I figure we should chase down some replacements so the bloke makes some calls and puts me onto Gawler Wreckers who may have some bits.
We jump in the ute and off we go to Gawler, about 30ks away , go about 2ks and its staggering again , but we manage to get there under our own steam. The bloke who owns the joint is an FE/FC nut who has cars all over the show including a very tidy ute and sedan plus about 25 parts cars out the back
, we wander around and find a real nice dizzy cap and a good usable rotor button so I buy them - for $10 - and wander out the front to fit them up . Whack them in and ute is still running like a dog
Phil , the owner of the yard , has just done a timing gear in his car and I am starting to have nightmares about this being the problem so we whizz the rocker cover off and check there isn't too much going wrong in that regard , he then tells me he has to go to a meeting but I am welcome to use his shed , just lock up when I am done
bear in mind I had only met him a half an hour before. He then rings Scott (Collecta on the forum) who I had never met either to see if he will give me a hand and he jumps in his car and drives half an hour to Gawler to help out - I had never met Scott before either .
We pull the dizzy and try one Scott bought with him which doesn't help so i change it back while Scott digs into the innards of the carbys and finds the float bowl on the front carb is bone dry. The needle was stuck and not letting any fuel in so he ripped it to bits and cleaned it up and now she is running like a bought one
We finished up about 8:30 - 9 o clock , locked up the shed and we were off.
I have said it before and I will say it again , the generosity and camaraderie of car guys is truly awesome , these two strangers freely and happily gave up their time , tools and workshop to help me sort out the problems with the ute and I am truly grateful , thanks fellas I owe you both big time
