HT HQ Brakes onto lc lj diff a how to

so got the ht hq bigger brakes onto the lc lj torana diff and cant see why it wouldn't work with a eh or hr diff's
and I guess it would work with fb ek diff's
first brought some hq backing plates and brake's complete and some ht drums from my wrecker mate
i had some old torana backing plates in the shed so cut one up for a template to use then bolted it to the hq plate
then used my die grinder and made the hole the correct size in the hq plate so it would fit over the bearing on the axel
as the hq plate hole is smaller in diameter then the torana ones
I then bolted it up to the torana diff and the axel has plenty of clearance from the wheel cylinder so this gives you bigger brakes
on the rear hq and ht brake shoes and parts are basically interchangeable so if your running ht front brakes as iam I now have matching front and rear
ht brakes and use a ht master cylinder as well complete matching brake system
now some pics
torana backing plate
HQ plate and brakes
torana backing plate fitting over bearing on a old holden axel I had in the shed
hq backing plate not fitting over bearing on a old spare early holden axell

Did the torana handbrake cable fit straight into the ht drum brake. I have a ht diff drum to drum at home and a lj diff in the fb, thinking about this mod the same time as when my hg disk front brakes go on aswell.

Picked up some HT rear brakes in my travels this week - internal hole diameter seems to be the same as the Torana brakes - you can see how much bigger they are, no good to me as I wouldn’t be able to run 13” wheels with them.

Good alternative for someone thinking they want rear discs.

They came off a HT in the bush near Laverton so I assume they are HT ? I dont have any drums so I just assumed they would be too big to fit a 13" rim over - if they will fit I will do them up and bang them on the ute as I was planning to redo the LJ brakes that are on it now.

I would assume 10 inch drums, same as Henry, HQ etc as a standard. So a 13 inch wheel will fit as long as the stud pattern is the same, which i believe they are.
Im going through this now with the old XP I have, 5/8 wheel cylinders need redoing but because its a factory disc brake set up and single cct system Henry used the smaller cylinders to avoid locking up. However they did this for 2 years only so the cylinders are like gold. Will have to resleeve them.
My point is balancing the rears is done by wheel cylinder diameter more so than drum diameter, the latter for better heat dissipation and surface area for heavier cars.
Not sure why i went down this road of converstaion ???
