Hi, does anyone know what model this radio is from and whether or not it will fit in an EK.
Any advice would be awesome.
Cheers

I did a buy it now on eBay, it had EK in the listing but I am a little concerned it won't fit. I asked the seller for some measurements but he hasn't got back to me yet. I haven't paid yet and I want to be 100% sure as it seems when people list stuff on eBay they just put every model Holden they can think of in the title just to get the ad up on searches.

The bloke sent me a heap of measurements and it will fit just nicely, should look really nice with all the other bits and pieces polished up.

You really should be asking your questions before you bid....

Yeah I know, he had EK in the listing so I thought it would be right but then I read a post on this forum where someone had one very similar that was too deep and wouldn't fit, that placed doubt in my mind, hence the confirmation. Better than it arriving and having to say "but your listing said it would fit an EK and it doesn't". The seller was more than happy to measure it up for me and it is all paid for now.

Its not Torana.
It shares a common chrome facia, but the Torana radios are the smaller bodied type.
It also has a repo sticker on it.
It is as Tim stated a universal fit Astor radio.
They had many different stickers on the front including ASTOR, HOLDEN and VALIANT.
It is period correct.

Hope the glovebox latch doesn't get in the way.
Looks to me like the fascia on that radio has been spray-painted silver to make it look good in the pictures

Most of it is painted silver anyway, though it does look a little average.
If you wanted to repaint it use mag wheel silver in a rattlecan. It will come up a treat.

I am pretty happy with it, hopefully the facia can be replated, I have a huge batch of stuff going in to get plated soon. Thanks for all of the feedback.

In that case Tim I stand corrected.
I would love to see it if you can be bothered scanning it.
