This may help:
Notice that whilst the actual visor is common to all body types, the brackets are unique for sedan, wagon, ute and van. Getting the right brackets is the largest source of angst.
Cheers,
Harv.

Hey Johno
As far as attaching the brackets to the body goes, I found the best solution is a "Nutsert" device. If you aren't familiar, it's like a blind rivet gun which installs a rivet-like device, but it's hollow and has a thread in it. They can be alloy, mild steel or stainless. My engine bay has heaps of these critters where I mounted fuel pumps, filters, header tank, relay panels.... I used this on Trevor's wagon when we fitted the visor, and it worked well. It leaves you with a nice threaded hole where you want it. A rubber "O" ring between the bracket and the body is also a good idea.

I used "wellnuts" - a brass thread fitted into a rubber tube, commonly used on motorbikes to fit fairings etc

I hope I might be able to offer some help? The brackets on my ute were rather dodgy so I made a pair of outer brackets (scalp brackets) from 0.8mm aluminium. See
http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... 11&t=17288 of what the end result was.
I have also included some photos from my father's FB sedan. As we have had the car since Dec 1962 we know the brackets (stainless steel 0.5 mm) are original and not been messed with.
Regards
Stephen
