They are impressive.
One of my first cars was a Tank Fairlane (sedan) :D
Red and White, small block 260 v8.
The tail lights were huge, and those things on top of the front guards are automatic hi beam sensors, incredible technology for its time.
Another car I wished I had kept. :( :(

Wayne. Thats a real HOT DOG. Fiona has a RanchWagon but it's laid up in the shed, covered in stuff. My Tank sedan is out and about about 3 days a week, but it usually gets put away again when that darned needle dives down to Empty (It was put away for that reason on Wednesday!) For some reason, it seems to run rough and flood and carry on in the mornings (6.00) on the way to work, but goes like a bird on the way home when the weather is warmer. The FB on the other hand, seems to go good all the time. As Ben Gall would say, "It may be just a F O R D thing!" Wev'e got an old caravan, which we bought, not to go to Rock and Roll Festivals (even though they are good) but just to go travelling, and the RanchWagon with it's little 302 Clevo, should be just the thing. Timbo is right in saying that I'm fond of old Tank Fairlanes, so thanks for the pic. Wayne.

That camper is awsome. What did they want for it.
When i was a lot younger one of the crowd we hung around with it penrith had a tank fairlane hearse.
It was made from a wagon and not stretched. It was one of the most well proportioned hearses i haave ever seen.
The car was lowered with a set of cragars on it.
The guy pulled it off the road to get a 460 put in it. Over the last 25 years its had a couple of owners and its just sitting now in a shed collecting dust.
I contemplated buying the car because i really have an affinity for it.
My wife went off her brain when i took he to look at it.
Why are hearses so miss understood. Beautifully coachbuilt.

All I can ever see when I look at a picture of Tony's Tank is his big grin V8 sound shortly followed by some tyre squeal

Tank fairlanes have always looked darn cool! They were my favorite car when I was in primary scholl as there were enough of them driving around, back in the 60's.
The 'Crime Story' series has them as cop cars and seen in a great chase scene.

Curiously -- many seemed to be in that weird green color, including a low mile one down the road from me

This Airbagged Ranch Wagon seen at Hanging Rock Run this year was awesome.
