Hi Pete. Yeah, driving with the foot was a challenge . I mastered the art of driving with the left foot though
The car didn't pop out once on the way back, though I was resting the hand on the stick. From Yass to Sydney I took the hand away and it was still ok.
Must've been my limp wristed driving that caused it to pop out heading down. Coming back I was well and truly slamming it into gear
I take it you made it back ok?

Good stuff
I have a new found respect for mine. Apart from the gear thing, it didn't miss a beat. Chewed no oil or water. And this from a car that from what I'm aware has never been pulled apart mechanically

Thanks for posting all those pics Cal. Your car is responding to your assertive driving style (just be careful with the column because there are some fragile parts in there, hence the popularity of speco floor shifts. LOL!) You have to train it like a DOG and show it that YOU are the PACK LEADER. Maybe this is BULLSHIT but it sounds feasible. Fi and I were happy to see a picture of our little EK amongst the other cars. It's subtle appearance and well used condition tends to keep it out of the media so It was nice to see it sitting there proudly.
I will try to take my new FB to Cowra next year after I fit a few things, among them a blow through heater and probably some seat belts. well see how we go. I'm glad you enjoyed your first nationals, and it was good to meet you.

Hi Tony, it was nice meeting you and Fi as well.
Don't sell you car short. I doubt there are many Parisian sedans around, and I wouldn't call it's condition well used. To do a 2000 mile return trip in it is amazing

. Hope to catch up in Cowra next year

It was fun all around. My car obviously thinks
IT'S pack leader as it ran out of fuel 20k's out of Wangaratta going home!!

I think it just likes me to look like a fool getting the Jerrycan out the boot and filling the tank manually!

A part from that it ran like a clock on it's short 1400km round trip. About half of that was at night (thank heavens for H4 100watt high beams!).
Tony, don't ever underestimate Fi's EK, that car is
bulletproof considering the miles of National's (& further) it has travelled over the years., it'll be good to see the FB make it to Cowra next year and give Fi's EK a well deserved rest.
Now to Pete (Cal), you have now mastered the EK gear change so the advise I gave you as to how to adjust the linkage won't be nessesary anymore..although a few weeks off to rest your busted foot might be in order!
...and finally Pete (Spaceace), I think I need you to come over and tell Kev (my EK) that
I am the new boss so it gets the idea that having silly things go array in the wrong place does'nt happen any more!!!!
Stoopid Dragon! Oh I like the new avatar...hmmm hmm yes yes..
Scotty.

Thanks Scotty. I've a torn ligament, so should be ok in no time. Might still need to adjust those linkages though

.
Check this out. Forget about the oil freezing at -35 degrees. You wouldn't be alive at that temperature

Is that a chunk of reindeer fur wedged in Robins bull bar? Anyway, poor old Robin. That car strikes fear into all the creatures on the coat of arms!
