How to tell year EK made.

Doe anyone know how to tell if my ek is a 1961 or a 1962? Please. Chassis # ek18192b

We'd really need the rest of the info off the ID plate on the firewall and the engine number. Sub-frames (chassis) and engines get replaced so you sort of need to see the whole lot and then some of the more knowledgeable guys can make an educated guess.

For my 2c worth, and going on the chassis number alone, probably a '61.

Thanks mefb, that number is on the inner guard driver side. There doesn't seem to be an I'd plate, so we'll go with that. Thanks again. :wink34:

48,000 Melbourne
58,000 Sydney
20,000 Brisbane
17,000 Adelaide
12.000 Perth

NZ etc 1,000.

I've noticed that there's a Katherine Beige EK ute on the register with the number EK 2106-4892-A with the sub-frame EK 56507 M.

I think a typo has snuck in there because, like you say, no other EK's out of Melbourne above the 48 thousands.

Might need to change that one Tim.
