HI ALL ,MY NUTS ON MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL KEEP COMING LOOSE ON MY FB WAGON(YES I HAVE TIGHTENED THEM UP) AS A RESULT MY WHEEL FELL OFF TODAY GLAD I WAS ONLY DOING 10K'S SO NO DAMAGE WAS DONE .... ANY SUGESTIONS ?? ::) ::) ::) CHEERS MARK/KAREN

a mate of mine had a vl with a locked diff, same thing would happen(on the back)he got some studs and nuts that were left handed (if thats what u call it )

If it is only happening with one wheel, maybe that wheel is buckled or lumpy causing them to vibrate loose. Other than that, change your stods and use new nuts.

Hi Mark & Karen.

Are the wheels original steel ones ? Are the wheel nuts the correct angle ? Many people aren't aware of the fact that Holden changed the angle of the seat where the nut sits, for the HT series. The nuts are still 7/16" UNF thread, so they still screw on, but they don't seat in the wheel properly. I have a service bulletin about this, but I have no idea how to post it. Can somebody guide me.

G'day Karen.

You'll find that the nuts have galled onto the rims and have in fact worn the tapper off the seats, the rims are possibly damaged as well were the nuts sit into. CAUSE: Over tightening.....This is still a problem today as with a lot of workshops and tyre shops, not so much the wheel falling off or coming loose, but there over tightened due to not using torque bars on there rattle guns (Air Guns) to do them up, causing great stress on the tapper on the wheel and the nuts. This causes a lot of problems like the warping of disc rotors(floating type), distortion of drum brakes, fatige and stress of wheel studs and nuts (common complaint is stripped nuts upon removal) and even distorted wheels and damage to alloy rims.

JOHN i think the wheel is stuffed but ive got to compare it with another on just to be sure..im in the process of getting some wider rims powder coated white so hopefully that will fix the problem..

RATBOX he hasnt yet but HE WILL BE SOON lol
