Some nice rides 4 sure
luv the stingray,naturally
can only get bigger/better each year
and whats not to luv about about a big block 502ci sandman
Man could you have some fun in that
But old skool Champ?
just makes me wonder what constitutes the term "old skool"thes days
and are we a couple of years away from seeing a commodore
as old skool champion?
I guess if you asked a hundred people of various age groups
youd get a different answer every time
but for me old skool is 50s 60s
hotrods,classic,customs etc
Thommos car is old school
not knockin the show
just planting a seed for thought

Regards Stingray

yeh no probs
we put it out there in a few diferent forums
what people class as old skool these days
im like you anything 50s 60s
but majority of the feedback was anything with a steel bumper wich in thay case makes the vb/vc commy 1979 old skool
they are old holdens now i spose
but u gotta draw a line somwhere

there were a lot of great old cars there on the day
i reccon if thommo had his car open and on display
he would have been in the top ten 4 sure
boots and doors open even on stands dont have to be fully detailed just clean at the end of the day thats where the others made their points

id hate to be a judge in any car show these days the quality of some cars are second to none
any feedback is good feedback

cheers dave

Hi All
Chrome bumpers do seem to be a sensible cut-off,
Like you say, "you have to draw the line somewhere".
Its just a pity chrome bumpers were carried on to the first commodores!
The commonhores are a different kettle of fish to the
"traditional early Holden" in my view.

And the mear mention of my car competing in any show with
Shanes Orange Big Block Sandman is a joke, surely!!!!
Didn't his panny finish top 50 at the summer nats.
Mine has a 20yr old paint job with 'lived in' interior,
Seems surprising what 3 carbs & shiney wheels can do to a FB

Also ' old skool ' Could mean many things to different people,
depending on your age or taste.

I thought the show was a good concept, to bring the different factions
of the hobby together. I wouldn't want to go cruising together every week,
with the 'new skool' homies, but its alright to gather for show now & then.

Cool!
like I said Im not Knockin the show in any way
and agree with Thommo that its a good concept
and by no means am I trying to take the shine
of of Shane & Carlys Trophy
just wondering about the catogries
I also think a token ie badge,plaque,etc
for all entrants is a great idea
so everyone goes home a winner

we wanted to make it a good cheap fun day kick back n bring ya own bbq
bar opens at 10 :D
and it all supports the local footy club

hope to see ya there next year

cheers dave
