Cool photos . For the crashbox Guide I'm pulling together, I've added a drawing that might help people identify different boxes:


Still needs a bit of work before I finalise it. Looks like I've got access to a red motor crashbox, so will add those dimensions. If you get a chance, I'd love the simplified dimensions and gasket shape for the Tremec to add to the drawing (pretty please ).

If anyone has a Muncie, Saginaw or Borg Warner box floating around, I'd appreciate those dimensions too.

I have a Muncie and a T5 at home

there's also variations on the powerglide, th350 and th400 not sure on length differances with the th350 and 400 but i know there is 2 different length powerglides

Do you mean differences in the gearbox body, or the extensions? I think its only the extensions that varied for a given box. In the picture above, I've given the different extension lengths available:
Powerglide can have a 9" or 12" extension.
T350 can have a 6", 9" or 12" extension.
T400 can have a 4", 9" or 13" extension.
