Re-installing front springs - help!

Hi - am at the point where I'm installing some new front springs. Front cross member is attached to the car, but it seems as I jack the car high enough to be able to get the spring in the, the lower control arm is then at too much of a vertical angle to get the spring to sit in the correct place, so I can then jack the lower control arm up and re-attach it.

Anyone done this, and have any suggestions?

You'll need to use spring compressors to squeeze the springs, in effect to shorten them.
This will allow the lower control arm to level out more before you use the jack under it.

I am sure this was covered in another thread that eventually got locked.
The consensus was to get a long threaded rod, nut and washers through the top shock mount, a piece of angle or thick plate through the spring and then another nut and washer. This will allow you compress the spring in the crossmember with less clearance problems that normal spring compressors

All done
