I'm trying to do a sympathetic restore on my EK wagon and want to paint up some items. Where can I find the paint codes for.

Steering column grey
Motor grey. For some reason its black atm but definately a grey.
Front seat end trims Looks like a Grey metalic
Dash Clinker Grey
Luggage compartment innerside panels. Currently silver.

Car is Parisian Lilac/Snowcrest.

Probably should just pm Parisian62.

Mick.

Edit: Is there a rule in restoring to do the engine bay black as I have seen a couple done the same colour as the car in a gloss finish and I quite like it done that way.

Hi Mick

For the underbody and engine bay we used 2pac (harder wearing) clinker grey in a satin. It still came out pretty glossy. http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... &start=345

For the rest of the body we used acrylic Have a look at this page http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... &start=495 has pics of the paint cans and paint codes. In front of each of the codes is the '585'.

Steering Column - Clinker grey - not sure if thats the right colour but thats what we used and because we had plenty of it...

Engine - Dave got some the grey engine enamel paint mixed up at his local shop. I don't have the code sorry.

Front seat ends - I carefully took off the stainless decorative strip and have them a good cut and polish. I had to make up new trim clips as the old ones were stuffed.

Dash - Clinker grey

Luggage compartment panels - havn't got there yet...but will be silver and so too will the driver and passenger kick panels. Will chat to my trimmer about what paint to use there.

As to 'rules in restoring'...I've tried to be sympathetic but practical too...do what makes you happy...the underside of my bonnet was originally clinker grey - it's now parisian lilac...

Hope this helps.
