Are the upper and lower wishbones on HD and HR front ends for both disc and drum brakes the same across all crossmembers or are their differences

no mate,

early HD drum had king pins which had different upper & lower wishbones to later ball joint front ends.

As far as I know all the ball joint HD/R front ends whether disc or drum had the same wishbones

According to the 20 Year Master Old Farts Dogologue,
a) FB-EH had the same lower control arms (7417153 for LH and 7417152 for RH) and upper control arms (7417151). On EH panelvan and ute, these were applicable to vehicles with 1 3/4" brakes. EH panelvans and utes with 2 1/4" brakes used 7427997, 7427996 and 7428000 respectively.
b) HD king pin suspension used 7427997, 7427996 and 7428000 (same as the EH panelvans and utes with 2 1/4" brakes).
c) HD ball joint suspension changed lower control arms changed to 7424977 for LH and 7424978 for RH. Upper control arms changed to 77426677 for LH and 7426676 for RH.
d) HR ball joint suspension kept the same upper control arms as HD, but changed lower control arms to 7432101 for LH and 7432100 for RH.

Quite a few changes. Are the parts interchangeable? Probably in some cases, but there are likely to be differences in aligment etc.

From memory the lower control arms in HRs are about 1/4 inch longer than in HDs.

I have four pairs of lowers and three pairs of upper wishbones so I'll carefully check to see which ones match up. I know that two sets of upper and lowers are from disc front ends one with discs bolted to the hub and the other with countersunk screws. One upper and lower set are drum brakes of unknown origin and one pair of unknown lower wishbones I found held togerher with the swaybar at the tip many years ago.
