202 head on 186...

Hi All
Just a quick quiz....
I have a 186 motor with a 202 head..... small spark plug holes.
Somewhere back in history i seem to remember someone saying ya have to use 202 pushrods when using a 202 head on a 186.
Is this correct??
If so... i am guessing the reason must be something to do with the 202 head being "Thicker ".. or the rocker gear sits higher on the head meaning the distance from the top of lift on the cam /cam follower to the rocker is greater on a 202 than it is on a 186???
If ya dont use the 202 pushrods then you arent going to get the full movement on the rocker .. and the valve wont fully open ??
Your thoughts ??
