After jacking the rear of my ek wagon up to fit lowering blocks, I left the rear in the air on stands from the towbar for a few days. I opened the right rear passengers door during and it never really shut again, well, not with a whole lot of effort. Now its low, back on the road and everything seems square and true, except that door is really really hard to close (i doubt my wife could shut it) and there is no gap at all at the top back when it finally shuts, but all the other gaps on the car are fine. have i bent something? can i fix it? i think yes and i hope yes!

Try loosening the hinges ad realigning the door and strike plate .

I've never really ever heard of anyone bending the body of a car by jacking it up in the manor you describe after all, the car takes all the bumps and twists in general driving over the years.
They will bend if the car structural members are in the stage of repair or badly rusted out, for example, some blokes have experienced body bend if more than one floor pan is cut out at a time for rust replacement and unless the body is supported in the right place it may have to be realigned.
I'd follow Trev's suggestion and realign the door and strike plate again.

I don't reckon you've done any irreversible damage.

when i was painting my hq tonner i had the back on stands with the doors open over night, the next day the doors wouldnt shut when i put it back on all fours
all i did was let it sit on the wheels with the doors open.
had to re-alighn them a little. i jacked the centre of each side c/rail a bit to straighten it too
just leave all the doors open and let it sit. im not saying this will fix it but it might help
try jacking the opisite side for half as long

Thanks for that, i will give all of the above a try! adjusting the door and striker plate hasn't changed anything, will open the doors and jack the middle sections close them and let it sit or something...

This story reminds me why i sold my FJ panelvan.
Throw it into a roundabout and the bonnet latch would release to the second catch. passangers side door would partially open on the latch mechanism , top tailgate would come unlocked on one side. It use to handle great with HR front end, pedders socks, king springs and rack and pinion steering.... Just a pity ya had to stop and shut everything after going a bit quick through the roundabout

Had a datsun 1600 years ago . jacked it up from just in front of the left rear wheel arch. only door that would open while it was jacked up was the front right .

I would suggest jacking on the opposite side or on the same side up the front and see if the door aligns again. If so leave it for a while with the door shut. Just one of those problems of owning a car constructed without a chassis.... except some are weaker than others..... especially FX/FJs

cant explain why a one tonner would get out of shape with a chassis under it????
