I was picking up my new shortened 9'' from Southern Chassis Works in Warragul the other day and this EK UTE caught my eye and the owner ( Mick ) happened to be checking out his new build....... well its not really that new... hes been working on it for a long time and has owned it a lot longer but he said he will come online and tell us about this build ...at the moment as you can guess Heath from SCW is fitting a full and tubbed chassis with some giant width wheels ,a hot late model LS2 I think he said ..........anyway I will leave it up to Mick to tell us more .....

Hi guys, I was a bit confused there for a minute when I couldn't find my post but eventually found it here. I guess I put it in the wrong section in the first place. Anyway Tim here is the story so far:
I have always been a fan of the fins, the wraparound windscreen and square quarter windows, and as a result, my first driver when I got my licence on my 18th birthday, was a EK wagon. It had a high compression 161 with twin strombergs and extractors,Hadfield front end and chassis, grey Hustler mags with Torque Twister boots on the rear and a marble steering wheel. Me and my mate attacked it with a 1/2 inch drive texta and drew flames all over the sides, we wrote "bush pig" on the bonnet and "just cruisin'" on the tailgate. This jigga wasn't really flash but it was super cool and man we had some good times in that thing. Anyway I came across a ute with a 308, turbo 400 and 9 inch for sale for 3 grand so I bought it. It wasnt long after I bought it that I got pulled up by the cops and they reckon it wasnt cool that I was driving a V8 car with 6 cyl Rego. So off to the engineers I went and after some rocker cover mods and mudguard washers under the seat bolts I had me a V8 registered EK. The donk was fairly smokey so I decided to rip it out and rebuild it. That was until my mate said to me "lets go on a trip around oz", which we did. I did, however manage to dust my life savings and that was the end of the engine rebuild....................until now.
