Bullet caps - one way to fit them......

I had the old girl on stands today checking bearings brakes greasing etc for the nats trip and thought I would share this:
I did this the the white EK 2 years ago and it has done over 10000 klms like it so thought it has proven itself enough to post it up as fitting Bullet caps has created some challenges in the past :shock: :shock: :shock:

Hopefully this may help anyone that is thinking of fitting them for the Nationals in Mt Gambier :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

The caps I used are cast alloy and have a thread inside them like this:

I drilled and tapped the rear axle to match the thread in the Bullet cap, then cut a peice of threaded rod to the right length so the cap could be srewed on after the wheel is fitted:

The front was the same idea but the threaded rod is simply welded to the dust cap:

These have done a lot of miles and I am very happy with the result....hope it helps someone out 8) 8)

Nice how to Gaz, I would never have thought to drill and tap like you have :thumbsup: .

Heres how I got my 3 bar spinners on to 15'' &*#@ rims..got the drawing for the adapter plate done on auto-cad and then got them laser cut ...tack welded them to the rim centre .........Have got whitewall flappers to be be fitted soon ....Fingers
