Hi all,

As a novice to these cars and cars in general, i was wondering peoples thoughts on carby set up for the FB EK cars.

Just came back from the All Holden Day and love the look of the triple carbs. I mate told me (an ex mechanic) that they need a lot of tuning, and regular tuning.

Peformance wise, how do you rate a 350 Holley, twin Strombergs or Triple carbs on a 186.

G'day Paul.

The biggest issue with carb selection is Compression ratio and Camshaft choice and valve size, after all that depends on what you want your motor to do.
My choice is 350 Holley for good performance and fuel ecomony if jetted and power valved right.
Next would be a 2 barrel stromy so long as no one has tightened the top air screws to tight and distorted the Top air horn. and at the same time stripped out the power valve.
Next would be a 2 Barrel Downdraught Webber
The last choice would be tripples only if your gonna rev the crap out of the old girl. The Choice is yours for SU's or CD Strombergs or Side draught Webbers or Delortoes ( All depends how much you won in Lotto)
Hope This helps Ya

Regards John.

Thanks John for the advice.

I think i will stick to the 350 holley. I just want nice cruzing not a thrashing, petrol slurping machine.
